Planting a Seed

You only want to see those who you love to walk with God just as you are! Im one of those too! Its hard not to push this awesome thing onto another person, so they can understand. As, time pass Im realizing more and more that I cant change a person! Only God can! God uses us as a messenger. We are only the "carrier" and "planter" and by the grace of God can we carry and plant a "seed" in another person! Only God can work on their hearts and finish what He commands His children to start!

Sunday Bike Ride

After church last week Joel and I ate lunch and went for a bike ride. We went to Beef a Roo next door to church to grab something to eat and change into more comfortable and warmer clothes! Then we took of for a bike ride from church to kishwakee river preserve parks! Seemed like a long ride! But on the way back it didn't seem so, though there were a lot of upward hills! It surely was a work out! We stopped by the Lee's house before heading back to church. Turns out we were a little early so we went back to Beef a Roo for some hot tea! (we both are not big fans of coffee) Well we had some interesting things to talk about the duration of the afternoon! We (Joel) was late for choir practice! All in all we both had a great time!

Lord's Supper

Sunday was and awesome worship day! It was the Lord's Supper Day! We did it in the morning this time! I think it was one of the best Pastor has done on a Lord's Supper Sunday. I could feel the whole room filled with emotion! I certainly was convicted!

Well I just wanted to share this!

Guest

This past Sunday I invited a friend from work (walmart) to church. We got there early to have breakfast; sitting across pastor and then Mrs. Metras. We enjoyed the family breakfast hour. Well I forgot i was in the nursery for the morning service. So, I asked Joel if Kyle could sit with him. Afterwards Kyle enjoyed chatting with Joel. Which I was thankful for, I figured Joel would be a good influence on him! For lunch we went to Beef a Roo next door, Joy and Mel joined us! We all had a good time fellowshipping! Im thankful that God has put into his heart to come to church and enjoy the experience!

Roommates

I have been blessed with awesome roommates! Its amazing sometimes the we even get along! They have helped me out so much since i have moved in! I will be the first to admit Im not the easiest person to live with. Since I have totaled my car they have been loaning their cars or giving me rides, i know it can be annoying sometimes cause i now have two jobs!

Ive had a lot of surprised reactions from people when i tell them that i live with three other ladies! Those of you out there who are surprised we all get along and dont have fights. This is why...we all are God-fearing christians and generous with one another. If people were like this imagine how comfortable a family could be in a houshold, or neighbors could feel in a neighborhood, or coworkers at their jobs, or citizens in a town!

Monday

Monday was a real full day but God certianly has blessed it! I got up at 5:30 am to go to a meeting at work for the accounting associates. I arrived a couple of minutes late! I saw another associate who works in accounting so, i walk up to her asking if there was a meeting? She had no clue as to what was going on! Well i thought Ill just ask someone else! At that time I saw my manager walking towards me. He tells me that the store manager told him to call me last night to cancel the meeting! He apolgizes and I forgave him! Instead of being preturbed i thought it was kind of funny! It was nice for the others to see that I could dress up nicely, anyhow! I had to get some ingrediants for my bread im making later that day!

Well then we all went out to Stockholm Inn! My roommates, Kristi, and I had a great time fellowshipping before she took off! It was nice to listen to them talk about different things. I dont say much, I prefer to listen! I also ate Mel's breakfast too! She was full i guess! I was too afterwards, whew!

After that I went home to bake my bread! I tried so hard to keep the kitchen clean but i soon learned that was immpossible! It was fun though! After baking the bread I took a loaf to the Metras's house!

Having lunch there I rushed home to meet the girls and all went to see a movie! It was a cute movie! I cant remember the name at the moment! I came home really tired! I went straight to bed (if u want to call a cot in the family room a bed!)! After a couple of hours i got up to go to work! WHEW!

This day being so full I felt I was greatly blessed!

Metras

My first time baking a zucchini bread was yesterday (Monday)! I used my mom's recipe. When i lived with my family mom would make lots of zucchinis bread they were delicious! So I took it upon myself to bake one. A friend from work gave me some zucchinis (which I greatly appreciate)!

So I decided to take a loaf to Chris Metras's house! They seem to enjoy it! Although, I'm sure I saw Ethan making a funny face when he first took a bite out of the bread! I asked him if he liked it, he said he did. They invited me to stay for lunch, which was deliciously simple! Ive enjoyed the fellowshipping with Metras's family. It was great getting to know Margret and the kid's better!

It certainly will be a memory I will cherish!

Stay or Leave!

Since a while back I have decided to move to Enid, OK! To help out Pastor Mark at his new church! I have been trying to decide when to leave! Ive finally decided to go down in the fall! That is until last week! Here what happened. I was at work (working hard of course) when one of my manager comes up to me and tells me that he thinks i should take the position of support manager! I responded by saying I would think about it! Ive talked to pastor and several other people! Its a really hard decision! Leaving church, friends, and family! I think the timing of the job opening was providential, I have been praying and decided that another six months couldn't hurt anything!

Birthday

Sunday the 15th was my birthday! I went home that weekend. Ive invited some family members to come out to a campground where my parent's have a place. I had a great time talking, eating, and playing with my family! I loved all the cards Ive received from family and friends! It means a lot to me to read those cards and notes inside them!

dr. appt. (agian)

So, Sunday at church we had a guest family from Kenya! They had a good testimony during Sunday school! It certainly made me think of myself and my role as God's witness. I shall pray and work harder as a witness in our Father's name! During the morning service I was in the nursery with the toddlers they certainly were a handful we (that is Nancy and I) had seven kids!

In the afternoon I headed to my grandparents place back home! I had a doctor's apt. the next day! Its been a while since I have seen my grandparents, I had a good time. It was a colorful experience! My grandpa gave me an old camera along with several other things with it! Its pretty cool! Cant wait to start taking pics with it! Ill probably have to get it cleaned though! After seeing my grandparents I went home and slept!

Next day i slept in and was late for my doctor's apt. Oops! I needed a TB shot! So ten minutes there then off to Rockford. I made a stop at my grandma's new apartment!

Day 2

Well after getting the car keys back in my hands! I went home! 1100ish i called my mom to tell her i got my keys! I could hear some noises in the background that was not noises associated with the usual! I ask her where she was! My family was camping at a campground near my house! So, she tells me to come out there if i wanted! So i agreed to do so! Now keep in mind folks i have not slept since Friday 930pm so i was pretty exhausted! So i got out to the campground and meet my family. My mom's cousin, her boyfriend (cousin's boyfriend), her kids were all there! I was thinking my brother grew bigger since last i seen him! Now I'm ready for bed! Ill probably end up sleeping my car thinking that my family brought their pop-up camper which is not very big! Turns out mom and dad bought a big camper on the land there! It was quite a deal! We got a deck, gazebo, shed, nice fireplace, and flowers around the border all for 700 dollars plus we paid half the rent for the land in campground! Well i slept comfortably in one of the beds in the camper! Got up early and had a nice day with the family! We went to a flea market for a short time, fishing, and played badminton!

So i had a good weekend with my family! On Monday i had a doctor's appt. and headed back to Rockford. I didn't get to see my sister, Erin, the whole weekend! That was a bummer!

Wedding Shower

I went home (family hometown) on Saturday! My cousin, Emily, had her wedding shower that day! There was abundance of food and good cake! My grandma and aunt was there as well as lots of other family and friends on Emily's and Brandon's (fiance) side. I had lots of fun hanging out with my cousins! We played a game called bean bag toss! My partner and I were the champions of the night! The game between my team and Eric's (cousin's husband) team were head-on, it was very close game! Dinner time came around and there was only a few of us left the three sisters (my cousins), a couple (friend's of the sisters), and ofc the host (parents of sisters). Barb (my aunt, girls' mom) made us dinner of sandwiches and chips! Sarah was nice enough to pull out some chicken so i can eat a sandwich myself! Well around 1030ish I said my good-byes (they were all getting ready to go out) and walk out to my car. Guess what happens! I locked my keys in my car! How embarrassed I was! Eric and Brandon tried a hand at opening my doors! So Eric called a locksmith he knew! The locksmith comes out and the guys were there to meet him! Well now i didn't have cash on me! Ugh! So Barb paid for me! I was so thankful that she paid the bill for me!

So, Barb if u happen to read this I'm grateful for your thoughtfulness!

HAVING A HEART

Luke 10: 25-37

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?"
So he answered and said, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' "
And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."
But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.
So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'
So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?"
And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

Luke 10:25-37

Speeding on the way to church this morning I noticed something peculiar. A woman bent over double on the sidewalk. She then straighten up, first thing i notice is the blood all over her face! Her expression was that of disbelief, fear, and sad. She runs out to the middle of the street to wave someone down! I continue on by!

Well that picture stayed with me throughout the morning! We had a guest speaker speak that morning! Dr. Burrgraff, the Scripture reading was on Luke 10:25-37 (above)! It really hit me, what should have i done!? He talks of the Christian duties of helping those in need, not just physically but spiritually as well!

On the way to church that morning I noticed a cop cruiser that pulled out behind me! So, as that woman was running out in the street i knew the cop was there! Still it made me think! What would i have done if the cop was not there? Would i have just kept on going?!

bible conference

Morning Star Baptist church is currently hosting a bible conference. It started last night at 7:15 with Chirs (assistant pastor) leading us into a song ("In Christ Alone") then our key speaker was introduced by Pasotr Bixby! Our key speaker Dr. Dave Burggraff is the vice-president of Clearwater Christian College! The theme is "Where the Rubber meets the Road," quite a facinating title! Dr. Burggraff has an intresting way of speaking ,for a lack of a better term, a low-keyed speaker. Dr. Burggraff is very knowlegeable in the subjects he speaks of. You feel as if he knows a lot but very humbly speaks! Well, ive enjoyed the first night and look foward to tonight! In the future Ill express some notes I have from the conference. As well as getting a recording from the church, hopefully!

Sunday

So, yesterday (sunday) was yet another awesome day! Pastor did outstanding job with his sermons! Okay, so what if I may be bias, he is after all my pastor! Still if you have not heard him speak then you are seriously missing out! In the evening he does catechisms for the kids and they were covering the eighth commandment (not amendment, a blurb i made in the car on the way home!) "Thou shall not steal". Well pastor decides to do a sermon on this for all in his congregation! Whew! Such a conviction! I had not realized what all is involved in God's command thou shall not "steal"! There is a whole list!

So, as I usually sit in front which is where the kids go up for their catechism I realize how ignorant I am in the commandments! I came up with this idea that I will have a little "commandment sessions" on this blog. I will study up on a particular topic and tell what I have learned! One of the reasons I'm doing this is so I can learn and hopefully the others who read this will as well! Alex and Romeo I hope you follow along as well!

Catch Up!

Well its been a while so I thought I should give an update!

Well first off I would like to say that Sunday was awesome service! It was agape Sunday and we do communion. We do this to focus on God's son, our Saviour, Jesus of Nazareth! We (or pastor) have been doing a series in Hebrew and he was able to glorify our High Priest while continuing his series! I shall get a copy of his sermon!

About a week ago i got my bridesmaid gown! Its nice but too big! So, I hope I can get alterations for my dress!

So anyways I have the next two days off so I hope I get some stuff done! I think I got everything in! Oh there is one more thing...

Yesterday I went to a thing with Barb and Mel. It was for engaged couples who wants a voucher for a free two night three day hotel accommodations. The catch was u had to sit in a lecture from a guy selling pots and pans. Well, I'll tell you these pots and pans were awesome! The best Ive ever seen (honestly, the best) the bum thing is its very expensive. The guy says it pays out in the end anyhow! Well of course i didn't get a set (1200 dollars) but if i were getting married I probably would have! So, Barb got her voucher and the guy cooked some food it was deliciously simple! After, the lecture we all went to this chocolate shop owned by a guy named Daniel. This guy has been all over the world finding ingredients and such for his chocolates. It was a pretty cool experience. We got a couple of chocolates, one was called "Rockford" it had some interesting stuff in it really good! Another called "intrigue" it has some Celtic sea salt in it along with other stuff, really interesting and good! I also tried one that had chili pepper in it, yum! This was an interesting and fun experience. One other thing a girl was working there for him and we were all talking (she liked to talk!) and we kind of made plans to meet up! I think she was looking for some Christian friends to hang out with! So all in all it was pretty nice. I hope we all can encourage this girl, Jordan, in her faith and friendship!

Feat of the Day

So today church was canceled on behalf of the weather! I sat here thinking what should I do! Lord knows that i have tons of stuff to accomplish! I finally came to a conclusion that I should be studying the Bible, God's word. If i were in church thats what i would be doing, right? So I formulated a question I have had in the back of my mind for some time, gathered my books, and sat down to start my study! It took some time but I have found a suitable answer! Boy oh Boy! Am I excited! I thought this was a huge accomplishment and a prayer answered! Oh by the way I prayed before starting my studying!

My question was this:
"Whom are the "chosen" or the "elected" people or the question was more of why are some chosen and some are not?"

After much thought and reading I have formulated an answer (hopefully understandable):
"Those who truly believe are the chosen, alas many believe but still will not humble and/or submit themselves to God."

Okay, so maybe I have some more work to do with this question. Right now it seems really good start. The verse that really helped and baffled me at the same time is: Matthew 22:14
"Many are called but few are chosen"

Called Off

So tonight I didn't go to work. There is a severe weather alert out here. My roommate, Karyn, wanted me to call my store to check in with to see what I should do! So I talked to my manager, Patrick, he said for me to stay home. It is bad out there the plow has not come through yet! So I'm home, just finished watching the first season and second disc of NCIS! Church tomorrow has also been canceled. Pastor Bixby called Karyn to inform her of the cancellation he was concerned that those member that live out a ways will try come to service just because he is there. So...maybe us girls will have a little session of our own!

First

Today was uneventful as usual. I just got a library card couple of days ago! It was free! Yippeee! I got a couple of books that day as well. They are Greationists by E.L. Doctorow and The Librettist of Veince by Rodney Bolt. The latter book is a biography of Lorenzo Da Ponte. Ive never heard of him until coming across this book at the library. He seems to be a facinating guy. I also bought a book at the library. The library has a cute little room that sell books. Anyhow, the book i bought was the ESV (english standard version) bible but, it only was the new testament. Well, it just so happens that I needed the ESV version of the Bible for sunday school (we are looking for a new name for "sunday school"). So i bought it for 50 cents. I also need a NKJV but i thought i already had one?! Hmm?
